My 18th Birthday!

I’m 18! To celebrate the day I had some friends and family over and decided to bake my own birthday desserts. I didn’t want to do anything too elaborate or time consuming so I went for some of the cakes I’ve made before knowing how long they would take. I did the Marmalade and Almond Loaf again as it is really simple and has a great flavour. We almost had arguments over the Key Lime Pie ‘rations’, next year I’ll have to do 2… maybe 3.

 

I also made something new which was a Cherry and Almond Tart. Unfortunately it was made in such a rush there wasn’t time for step by step photos and in the dessert scramble I didn’t get a shot of the final piece or a slice. I suppose I’ll just have to make it again!

To top it all, look at what I got from my parents! Meringues and macarons here we come!
