Six. 2019.

Happy 6th Birthday The Small Slice.

It doesn’t seem like much has gone on over here, and I’m sorry! I have given the blog a subtle but much needed face lift and made some layout improvements, which I hope will be much better for readers with all the amazing content I have planned for 2019.

2018 has been all guns blazing with The Small Slice Bakery, but a quiet one on the blog and podcast front. It’s hard to balance various outlets with such different media, so I’ve put a lot of thought into the best way to have fun with my content in the next 12 months. But let’s look back at the last 12 quickly…

This time last year I was thanking you all for getting me shortlisted for the UK Blog Awards, and now I can thank you for getting me all the way through and awarded Highly Commended Food and Drink Blog 2018.

I ran a market stall for 6 months.

I took my stall to Black Girl Festival and sold out!

In fact there were quite a few sold out days!

I’ve baked over 100 cakes, 1000 cupcakes and hundreds of mince pies.

The Small Slice hit 1000 followers over on Instagram.

I made some memories and some mistakes, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing!

I’ve had countless messages regarding the skills I’ve learnt and use for the bakery, and so many people asking me to start a YouTube channel. I would really like to put more of the old school The Small Slice content out, baking recipes and restaurant based posts, but also include some new more technical decorating posts too. Hopefully these will also feature on the blog, but expect to see some short form video over on Instagram this year.

I hope everyone has had as successful and educational 2018 as I did. Not only for the blog and bakery, but also for yourself.

2019. Seventh year at this. Let’s go.
